The original Pleyel action has been replaced with a custom-made Renner action which enhanced the response of the instrument and adds familiarity to the modern player.

Pleyel made a limited number of grand pianos in the Louis XVI style and these instruments are highly sought after. Pleyel modèle "E" baby grand piano

RESERVED. An excellent opportunity to acquire a 5'4" Pleyel baby grand piano at an unrepeatable price. We have taken this piano in part exchange for a larger Pleyel purchased by a client. This Pleyel has been restored in the past by one of our peer piano companies and we are selling it "as is". The piano plays with a dark tone and with plenty of power. The bass is exceptional for a piano of this length. There is excellent figuration in the Rio rosewood cabinet, with the calligraphic Pleyel signature inlaid in brass to the lid. The modèle "E" was Pleyel's original baby grand piano, introduced in the 1890s. It is essentially fully modern in design with a pleasing, powerful sound. This example was initially sold to a department store for display in London; in that year, several other modèle Es were sold to Harrods, demonstrating the popularity of this model.
